Tesla has begun delivering
Cybertrucks to showrooms in the United States ahead of the vehicle's official
launch later this month. The company has not yet announced the exact date for
the launch event, but it is expected to take place in late November.
Only ten Cybertrucks will be
shipped for the debut ceremony in Austin later this month, according to the
Mexican daily Milenio. Javier Verdura, worldwide director of product design at
Tesla, acknowledged this development in a conversation with the newspaper last
week.
The Cybertruck is Tesla's first
all-electric pickup truck. It was unveiled in 2019 to much fanfare, and it has
since become one of the most anticipated vehicles in recent years. The truck is
expected to have a starting price of $39,900 and a range of up to 500 miles.
Reducing their expectations is
necessary for the nearly 20 lakh potential consumers who have reserved the
Cybertruck in advance. Previously, Cybertruck deliveries were scheduled to start
in late 2023, according to Elon Musk, co-founder and CEO of Tesla. To reduce
delivery backlogs and boost inventory, he acknowledged that full-scale
manufacture of the all-electric pickup truck won't start until early in 2024.
The Cybertruck is expected to be a
major competitor for the Rivian R1T and the GMC Hummer EV pickup truck. All
three trucks are expected to be popular with consumers who are looking for a
powerful and stylish electric pickup truck.
The Cybertruck's engine
specifications have not yet been made public by Tesla, although it is
anticipated that both twin- and tri-motor versions with all-wheel drive will be
available when it launches. Later on in the lineup, a rear-wheel drive setup is
anticipated. To complement the range of motor architectures, the company is
anticipated to provide a number of battery solutions in terms of range.
Here are some of the key features
of the Tesla Cybertruck:
·
All-electric powertrain
·
Range of up to 500 miles
·
Towing capacity of up to 14,000 pounds
·
0-60 mph acceleration in under 2.9 seconds
·
Starting price of $39,900
Tesla has said that it will begin
production of the Cybertruck in late 2023, and deliveries are expected to begin
in early 2024. The company has not yet announced how many Cybertrucks it plans
to produce in 2023, but it has said that it expects to ramp up production in
2024.
The Cybertruck is a major
milestone for Tesla, and it is expected to be a key part of the company's
future growth. The truck is expected to be popular with consumers who are
looking for a powerful and stylish electric pickup truck.
