India has seen the launch of the updated MG ZS EV. It gets a fresher look thanks to new bumpers, redesigned 17-inch alloy wheels, and the Astor lighting system. The dashboard layout, which is reminiscent of the Astor and has an infotainment system with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a digital driver's display, and a panoramic sunroof, is the most observable interior change. Additionally, a headrest for center passengers, rear AC vents, and a rear center armrest are added. Additionally, ADAS features such as rear cross-traffic alert, lane change assistance, blind spot warning, and rear parking assistance are available. A larger 50.3kWh battery and a more powerful 176PS electric motor are found under the hood, and the vehicle's range on a single charge is said to be up to 461 kilometers.

MG ZS EV Features

The charging socket has been moved to the left side of the MG logo, and the MG ZS EV fascia now has an enclosed grille rather than a deep concave configuration. A more aggressive design and a larger central air dam with vertical intakes on both ends have been added to the front bumper. The 17-inch alloy wheels, taillights, and bumpers on the ZS EV will all be updated. The roof rails, rear spoiler, LED taillights, and ORVMs with side indicators from the previous generation will all be retained.

A 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, a fully digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, cruise control, drive modes, an air purifier, rear AC vents, a six-way electrically adjustable driver seat, and wireless charging are all included in the new MG ZS EV facelift.

Exterior

The new ZS EV features 17-inch redesigned wheels, new LED headlamps with integrated L-shaped DRLs, new L-shaped rear lights, distinctive front, and rear bumpers, and a panoramic sunroof. Additionally, MG relocated the front charging port so that it is now next to the brand logo.

Interior

Except for a new, larger 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen with upgraded i-Smart connected car technology and a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, the interior of the ZS EV is unchanged. A 360-degree camera system, a wireless charging pad, power-adjustable front seats, blind-spot detection, lane change assistance, rear-cross traffic alert, six airbags, cruise control, an electric parking brake, auto headlamps, and wipers are additional features.

Battery, Range, and Performance

The 2022 MG ZS EV will be powered by the same 50.3 kWh battery pack that powers a permanent magnet synchronous motor with 174 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque. It can travel 461 kilometers on a single charge and accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 8.5 seconds.

Safety

The safety package includes electronic stability control, hill descent control, six airbags, ABS with EBD, and six airbags. Although it lacks the ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assist Systems) found on the Astor, it does have driver-assistance features like rear cross-traffic alert and blind spot monitoring.

MG ZS EV Capacity

There are five seats in the MG ZS EV. With the back seats occupied, it has a 448-liter boot space.

MG ZS EV Price

On the MG ZS EV, there are two options: Excite and Exclusive. Price ranges for the ZS EV are Rs. 21.99 lakh (Excite) to Rs. 25.88 lakh.

MG ZS EV Verdict

The Jeep Compass and Tata Harrier are two SUVs that the MG ZS EV is aiming to compete with. It is a fairly simple and practical car to live with and is primarily for environmentally conscious car buyers. The most recent facelift version, which includes a number of updates, makes this even more apparent.
