In India,
electric vehicles are quickly taking over. The Indian automaker Tata has taken
the risky step of joining the bandwagon with their most well-known and most
recent Tata Nexon, despite the fact that they aren't particularly practical and
are quite expensive. Given how well it drives and the adequate performance it
has to offer, it receives a perfect five stars in the Global NCAP crash tests
and is renowned for being a good value for money.
The Nexon EV is the Tata Nexon
compact SUV's all-electric variant. The 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack has an
8-year/160,000 km warranty in addition to 129hp power and a 312km
ARAI-certified range. The Tata Nexon EV is currently only available in a few
cities, and it costs more than the regular petrol and diesel Nexon. The
Mahindra eXUV300, which will launch in 2021, will be a competitor for the Tata
Nexon EV, which currently lacks any competitors with comparable prices. The
Hyundai Kona Electric and MG ZS EV are two additional electric SUVs to think
about.
Dual
airbags, ABS, reverse parking sensors, and ISOFIX child seat mounts are
standard on all Tata Nexon EV models. LED DRLs, part-digital dials, drive
modes, power windows, keyless entry and start, and an audio system with Bluetooth
connectivity are included in the base XM trim version. Alloy wheels, rear
wash/wipe, a rear parking camera, rear air-conditioning vents, a driver's seat
height adjuster, and a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
are among the features that mid-spec XZ+ versions should include. The most
extras are included in the top-spec Nexon EV XZ+ Lux model, including a
sunroof, leatherette seats, and auto headlights and wipers. Although it is a
compact SUV, it is quite expensive.

The Nexon EV is a fantastic city vehicle. Performance and
acceleration are more than adequate for daily driving. The Nexon EV accelerates
even more when the selector dial is set to Sport. However, stomping on the
accelerator pedal will cause the front wheels to spin, and in such
circumstances, the additional safety of ESC is missed. The Nexon EV's
regenerative braking will take some getting used to for buyers coming from a
car with a combustion engine. Regen braking cannot be adjusted in intensity,
and the only setting causes a rather abrupt deceleration. Although a welcome
addition, hill-start assistance doesn't 'hook' as quickly as it should.
The price reduction is between Rs 31,000 and Rs 85,000 for
the Prime and Max variants. Tata Motors has drastically reduced the price of
its Nexon EV in a move that is perceived as a response to the recently released
Mahindra XUV-400 electric SUV. The price reduction is between Rs 31,000 and Rs
85,000 for the Prime and Max variants. The government's PLI program,
according to the nation's largest EV manufacturer in the passenger segment, is
to blame for this price reduction.
