In India, the Ather 450X Gen 3 electric scooter has a
starting price of Rs. 1,23,405 per unit. It comes in 2 variants and 6
colours, with the top variant starting at Rs. 1,45,349 in price. The
motor in the Ather 450X Gen 3 produces 3300 W of power. The Ather 450X
Gen 3 offers a combined braking system for both wheels with front and rear disc
brakes.
The Ather 450 Gen 3 shares the same appearance as its
forerunner. It has a fresh appearance and lots of contemporary features.
Overall, the scooter still has minor changes that make it look sporty. For a better visibility, the rear-view mirrors, for instance, have been redesigned.
Over 40,000 Ather electric scooters are currently in use.
Each and every one of them is a connected car that is gathering a tonne of
information about how it is being driven and used. The 450X Gen 3 was created
using feedback from existing customers and the over 218 million kilometres of
ride data that Ather claims it has collected.
Since these pictures appear to show the same Ather 450X that
is currently for sale, you're probably thinking that something is wrong. You
would be correct because, aside from a new set of mirrors and different tyres,
this scooter is virtually identical to the current 450X. There isn't even a
badge identifying this as the new Gen 3 model; everything else, including the
bodywork and paint jobs, is the same.
Ather 450X Gen 3: Features
The Ather's 7.0-inch TFT
display (IP65 Rated
| Water-resistant
& dust-proof) still has the same appearance, but now responds
more quickly and smoothly because the system's RAM was doubled from 1GB to 2 GB.
Built on interconnected
layers of firmware, system intelligence and algorithms, AtherStack is the
software engine that powers all the magical experiences on the dashboard.
Ather acknowledges that the new
mirrors are much more functional while still being quite stylish, whereas the
old ones were an example of form over function. The manufacturer also
acknowledges that many customers have requested a side-step footrest for the
pillion rider, and as a result, they have created a well-designed accessory
that complements the look of the scooter.
The e-scooter has Bluetooth
connectivity and five riding modes: Smart Eco, Eco, Ride, Sport, and Warp
(four for the 450 Plus) (only for 450X) - LED lighting, reverse gear
parking assistance, and a seven-inch touchscreen TFT display.

450X Gen 3: Battery
Fortunately, there are a few significant improvements concealed beneath the surface, one of which is the larger battery that Ather customers have been requesting. The new Ather 450X has a battery that is up to 3.7kWh instead of the previous model's 2.9kWh. As a result, the Ather 450X can now claim a real-world range of 105 kilometres* (105 km TrueRange, not a number on paper, it’s what you get on the road.), up from the previous claim of 85 kilometres (in Eco mode).
We'll need
to conduct a thorough review to verify that figure, but prior use of the 450X
has shown that Ather's claims are plausible and that the scooter's range
indicator is remarkably accurate.
*It is based on data from millions of
kilometres of riding by Ather owners across the nation and environmental
conditions. On that, you can rely. There is also room for more when conditions
are ideal, up to 146 km (certified range).

450X Gen 3: Performance
The Ather 450X Gen 3 is powered by a 6.2kW motor and a
3.7kWh lithium-ion battery. The 450X Gen 3 is said to have a claimed 105km
range in Eco mode thanks to the latter, which is a bigger unit than before. The
450 Plus Gen 3 can travel 85 kilometres while in Eco mode. This means
that in its top two modes, the 450X will be able to reach an indicated top
speed of about 90 kph.
Most other things continue to be the same aside from that.
The larger battery's new mounting points and the suspension tuning that was
made to accommodate the new tyres were the only changes made to the chassis.
Speaking of, the company has switched to a wider, 100-section rear tyre and the
new MRF tyres offer a noticeable improvement in grip. It is supported by
Monoshocks at the back and telescopic front forks up front. The braking
system consists of a single disc with regenerative braking on both ends.
Twelve-inch alloy wheels with MRF tyres are mounted on the Ather 450. It weighs
111.6 kg and has a 22-litre under-seat storage compartment.
Approximately 4 kg have been added to the device due to the bigger
battery, but you won't really notice this when you're moving around. The
handling now feels more surefooted, largely because of the new tyres, which
motivate you to push a little harder. Undoubtedly, handling this machine is
enjoyable.
The brakes remain the same, so they are still powerful, but
the rear still locks a little too easily. Although the suspension has been
adjusted to work with the new tyres, overall suspension comfort is unchanged;
it is firm over rough terrain. For tall riders, it is still a fairly confined
scooter. The large portable charger and the 22-litre boot space, which is more
useful, remain unchanged.

450X Gen 3: Price
In India, the Ather 450X Gen 3 electric scooter has a starting

450X Gen 3 offers a combined braking system for both wheels with front and rear
Disc brakes.
A good portion of the price increase caused by the larger
battery pack has been offset by the FAME 2 Subsidy and various state
subsidies. The price has increased by an average of about 5000 rupees, which is
very reasonable depending on the city.
The Ather 450X Gen 3 is
thus described. It's a little disappointing from a generational standpoint, but
it finally gets past the psychological barrier of being able to travel more
than 100 kilometres on a single charge. That will inevitably lead to many more
people considering one.
