A battery-swapping refueling platform for urban electric two-wheel scooters, mopeds, and motorcycles was developed by the Taiwanese company Gogoro. Additionally, it creates its own line of electric scooters and provides its own vehicle innovations to partners who manufacture vehicles, including Hero, Yamaha, Aeonmotor, PGO, eReady, and eMOVING. The Gogoro Smart scooter, the company's first consumer product, was unveiled in January 2015 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. Gogoro also introduced the Gogoro Energy Network, a battery-swapping network, along with the scooter.
Gogoro Network
A modular battery-swapping infrastructure called the Gogoro Network is intended to be installed in cities for the electric refueling of two-wheeled vehicles like scooters, mopeds, and motorcycles. For a monthly subscription fee, users would be able to replace exhausted batteries at a network of kiosks known as GoStations. As of April 2021, Gogoro Network reported 370,000 riders and handled more than 175 million battery swaps, or 265,000 per day, through its 2,000 GoStations in Taiwan, its pilot market.
The first vehicle to be incorporated into the Gogoro Network in 2015 was the Gogoro Smartscooter. The network also features the Powered by Gogoro Network program, which enables other electric scooter manufacturers to create scooters that make use of the Gogoro Network's infrastructure. Gogoro has seven car manufacturers as of April 2021, including Hero, Yamaha, Aeonmotor, PGO, eReady, eMOVING, and Gogoro.
In collaboration with Yadea and Dachangjiang Group, Gogoro Network launched in Hangzhou, China in October 2021 with 45 battery swapping stations. Since then, it has expanded to Wuxi and Kunming, and as of September 2022, China had 250 swapping stations. One of the first markets Gogoro has looked into the outside of Taiwan is Israel. The Tel Aviv launch of Gogoro happened in September 2022. Gogoro stated that it would launch in Singapore in 2022 and that it had recently partnered with Hero MotoCorp to register the Gogoro Viva in India.
Gogoro 2 Series Plus
The Gogoro 2 Series is an electric scooter produced by Gogoro, a subsidiary of HTC, one of the largest manufacturers of smartphones in the world and a Taiwanese electric scooter startup. Although it costs much less, the Gogoro 2 provides nearly the same performance as the Gogoro 1.
Economical design is a hallmark of the 2 Series. It mostly makes use of standard components, which are frequently inexpensively accessible. The scooter can be serviced by the majority of typical scooter shops and requires almost no maintenance. For a top speed of 90 km/h, the scooter's electric motor has a 6,400-watt capacity. 4.3 seconds are needed for the scooter to accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h. The scooter can only travel at a maximum speed of 45 km/h in order to be legally registered.
Regenerative braking on the scooter will transfer power back to the batteries. Synchronized Braking System (SBS), a novel innovation in braking technology, simultaneously applies braking pressure to the front and rear wheels while automatically balancing stopping force to minimize slippage under hard braking or during emergency stops.
Gogoro S1 Performance
The scooter's 8,5 hp, liquid-cooled, high-performance motor can operate underwater and allows for water travel. While most gasoline scooters will break down in floods and storms, the scooter will allow you to keep driving. The scooter is incredibly maneuverable. The scooter can lean up to 45 degrees in turns and is built for racing because there are no exhausts to worry about.
The scooter has cutting-edge 2 compound racing tyres that reduce friction while moving quickly and increase traction in sharp turns. Extra-large disc brakes with four pistons per disc are featured on the S1 Performance. It is possible to fine-tune the front and rear suspensions so that they control the vehicle even during the most difficult maneuvers.
Like Tesla cars, the Gogoro scooter can be remotely serviced. Gogoro engineers constantly monitor every aspect of the Smartscooter with the help of more than 80 sensors, making sure that all functionality remains in sync. Gogoro's iQ System, which pushes your riding information to a vibrant smart dash and helps the driver ride more effectively, is available on the scooter's dashboard. Additionally, it wirelessly updates automatically with new cutting-edge features. The dashboard can be completely customized, just like the home screen of a smartphone.
The Gogoro 2 Series scooter is virtually impossible to steal because it is digitally encrypted and fingerprint authenticated. The scooter will only be driven by the owner thanks to the same reputable technology that protects servers and banks from hacking. There is a wireless key for the scooter. The scooter has cutting-edge 2 compound racing tires that reduce friction while moving quickly and increase traction in sharp turns. A sizable buddy seat on the scooter can accommodate two helmets.
The Gogoro comes with a battery subscription and a network of GoStation battery swapping stations, unlike other electric scooters that are charged through a wall outlet. You stop at a station and replace the scooter's old batteries with new ones when the battery power runs low. For this service, Gogoro charges a monthly subscription fee. Gogoro additionally provides a home charging station called a GoCharger that charges both batteries in 2.5 hours, in addition to the battery swap network. The batteries have a 150 km range.
