Bengaluru-based Orxa Energies has
launched its first electric motorcycle, the Orxa Mantis, in India at a starting
price of Rs 3.60 lakh (ex-showroom). The company claims that the Mantis is the
fastest electric motorcycle in India, with a top speed of 135kmph. It also has
a range of 221km on a single charge.
The Mantis is powered by an 8.9kWh
battery pack that delivers 20.5kW of peak power and 93Nm
of torque. The motor is liquid-cooled, which is a first for an electric
motorcycle in India. The company claims that the Mantis can accelerate from 0
to 100kmph in just 8.9 seconds.
The Mantis is also equipped with a
number of features, including a fully digital instrument cluster, LED lights,
and regenerative braking. It also has a unique aerospace-grade aluminum alloy
chassis.
The Mantis is available in two
colors: Urban Black and Jungle Grey. Bookings for the Mantis are now open, and
deliveries are expected to begin in April 2024.
