Suzuki e-Burgman Electric Scooter Revealed

Suzuki Motorcycle has taken a step forward in the electric vehicle market by unveiling its upcoming electric scooter in India - the e-Burgman. Let's take a closer look at the features of the e-Burgman.

Design of the Suzuki e-Burgman

The e-Burgman looks almost identical to the regular Burgman Street. This is a wise move by Suzuki, as electric vehicle buyers tend to prefer non-radical designs that are closely linked to traditional vehicles. The e-Burgman measures 1,825 mm long, 765 mm wide, and 1,140 mm tall, with a Kerb weight of 147 kg.

Powertrain of the Suzuki e-Burgman

Suzuki has classified the e-Burgman as a Class-2 light electric scooter, powered by an AC synchronous electric motor. This motor has a peak torque of 18 Nm and a max power output of 5.36 BHP. The scooter comes with a lithium-ion battery, providing a claimed range of 44 km while riding at a speed of 60 km/h.

Suzuki e-Burgman and Competition in India

In the Indian market, the Suzuki e-Burgman is expected to compete against electric scooters such as the TVS iQube and the Bajaj Chetak, as well as Ola’s S1 and S1 Pro and Äther 450X. Honda has also recently announced its plan to launch an all-electric Activa. This competition is beneficial for buyers, as it results in better products and services.

Suzuki's Updated Range of Offerings

In addition to the e-Burgman, Suzuki has updated its range of scooters with OBD2-A and E20 compliance norms. The scooter range now includes Access, Avenis, and Burgman Street, and is E20-ready, enabling them to run on 20% ethanol-blended fuel. This move demonstrates Suzuki's commitment to sustainability and its efforts to reduce its carbon footprint.

In conclusion, Suzuki's e-Burgman is a promising electric scooter with impressive features that should appeal to many buyers. With the growing competition in the Indian electric vehicle market, we can expect to see more innovative and advanced electric vehicles in the near future.
